Cataract Surgery

Our Commitment to You

  • You will be attended to immediately upon your arrival and receive a warm and friendly welcome. Refreshments are always available in the reception area as well as the latest magazines, children’s toys and a television for your comfort. Also in the reception area, educational materials and an interactive Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre Tour are available for you and your family and friends to explore.
  • You will not be kept waiting long - we respect your commitment to improving your eyesight, but also respect your time. If time is of a concern, do not hesitate to inform our reception staff. We will do our utmost to see you as soon as possible.
  • Your transport to the practice is also of concern to us. The reception staff will be happy to coordinate bus timetables and call taxis to ensure your comfort. Alternatively our car park is always open.
  • We are the only accredited Day Surgery centre specialising in Laser Vision Correction in South Australia. Our team includes: surgeons, optometrists, registered nurses, ophthalmic technicians, receptionists, a clinical adviser and administration staff. We have completed over 7,000 procedures in over 12 years, having introduced Laser Vision Correction to Adelaide in 1992.
  • Your condition and the procedure will be explained to you in layman’s terms. You can call us at any time to clarify any issue, including what makes us so different.
  • We would like your friends and family to experience our service also. This is why we offer a unique and complimentary screening service. A one-on-one information session is carried out by our Clinical Adviser, free of charge.
  • Laser Vision Correction is not for everyone. Our selection process is extremely detailed and without obligation. Before surgery is recommended you will see our clinical adviser, optometric staff and surgeon to determine your suitability in accordance with our comprehensive informed consent process.
  • A comprehensive preoperative eye examination is performed using the latest equipment and computer technology. The surgeon then constructs a management plan if you meet the suitability criteria.
  • Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre donate $20 to the Royal Society for the Blind, our preferred charity, for every Pre-operative laser vision Assessment performed, regardless of whether surgery is performed.
  • Being an ACHS accredited Day Surgery facility means all aspects of our delivery of care meet stringent standards that are independently assessed on an ongoing basis.
  • Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre is committed to providing you with the best possible care. In accordance with AE&LC’s 5 year Vision Commitment, no fee will be levied directly to the patient for any enhancement procedure that is related to the initial procedure for a period of 5 years following the surgery.

We are here to improve your vision and lifestyle, giving you social freedom and the confidence to tackle the rest of your life without the restrictions that glasses and contact lenses may impose. We are committed to achieving this by providing efficient professional service. We believe our education process, experience and surgical and technical standards enable us to provide you with the best visual outcomes possible. We are sincere when we say that you are the most important person in this practice.

"This is our commitment towards your clearer, brighter future"
