A 25 year milestone for Medical Director and ophthalmic innovator Dr Peter Ingham

This month please join us in congratulating Dr Peter Ingham on achieving a significant professional milestone.

It’s been 25 years since he opened the doors of Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre (AE&LC).

In 1999, AE&LC was purpose built as a fully accredited consulting and surgical facility for ophthalmic procedures, the first of its kind in Adelaide.

Since then, Dr Ingham has continuously dedicated himself to offer the highest standard of eye health care, including cataract surgery and laser vision correction in Adelaide.

Always open to innovation, achieving the best results, and providing an exceptional patient experience, in 2021 the AE&LC offering evolved once again.

AE&LC became an independent consulting only practice on the first floor of 215 Greenhill Road led by Dr Ingham as Medical Director. This new era of AE&LC saw the expansion of the team to include other exceptionally skilled consulting ophthalmologists and the ability to offer a broader range of ophthalmic expertise and treatments.

Dr Ingham is now joined by Dr Ben LaHood, globally recognised as a refractive, corneal and cataract specialist; Dr Carmen Oakley, who has dual subspecialties in glaucoma and cataract, and Dr Devaraj Supramaniam, a vitreo-retinal and cataract specialist ophthalmologist. It is expected that in years to come this team will continue to grow.

Further to this, and with the vision to create an ophthalmic precinct of excellence, ParkView Day Surgery was developed as the newly named fully accredited ophthalmic day surgery, located on the ground floor of the same building and led by Dr Ingham as Medical Director.

Offering state of the art technology and expanded facilities, ParkView Day Surgery is shared with other visiting ophthalmologists.

Together both AE&LC and ParkView Day Surgery offer patients a pre-eminent and purpose-built ophthalmic treatment precinct, with convenient and comprehensive ophthalmic consulting and surgical management in a single dedicated location. It is an exceptional and much needed medical resource for South Australians.

With a career spanning over three decades, and an outstanding record of ophthalmic innovation and excellence, including being the first to offer laser vision correction in South Australia, Dr Ingham has worked tirelessly to re-imagine both his consulting and operating facilities into a premier and purpose built ophthalmic consulting and surgical precinct.

Dr Peter Ingham is a highly regarded cataract and refractive surgeon and is an active member in his peer community. He looks forward to continuing to collaborate with his colleagues and referrer community, and to continuing his practice at AE&LC and ParkView Day Surgery in the years to come.

Please join us in congratulating Dr Ingham.

Book complimentary laser assessment

To understand your best laser options we provide either a tele-consultation or in-house assessment that is no cost to the participant. Provided by a skilled refractive counsellor from ParkView Day Surgery, our affiliated day surgery facility, during this appointment we are able to refine what your personal eye solution is, and provide you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Are you suitable for eye laser surgery?

Not all people are suitable for laser surgery and a thorough examination with an Ophthalmologist is necessary to determine suitability, however, there are some general guidelines and questions which can provide an initial indication of suitability. Take the suitability test and take your first step to a clearer brighter future.
