Dr Ingham received his fellowship of ophthalmology in 1987 in Adelaide and until 1990 was a visiting specialist to the Royal Adelaide and Whyalla Hospitals in combination with private practice. From 1991 he became a visiting specialist to Port Pirie and Noarlunga Hospitals and clinical adviser in ophthalmology to Ashford Community Hospital. From 1996 he was also a visiting cataract surgeon to Mackay and Melbourne. In all locations co-management with local optometrists, ophthalmologists and medical practitioners was developed to allow for the optimum care of his surgical patients.
In 1992 Dr Ingham introduced eye laser (refractive) surgery to South Australia at Ashford Community Hospital and in 1996 established the Ashford Eye & Laser Centre to cater for his sub-specialty in cataract and eye laser (refractive) surgery. Since then Dr Ingham has completed more than 25,000 cases of laser vision correction and over 20,000 cataract procedures. He has also been an investigator for emerging technologies for various international companies including Wavelight Laser AG of Germany, Alcon Surgical USA, Staar Surgical USA and Refractec USA.
Dr Ingham developed and relocated to the Adelaide Eye and Laser Centre (AE&LC) at 215 Greenhill Road, Eastwood in 1999.
Kathy has been involved in healthcare for over thirty years in administrative and management roles for a number of private specialty practices, private hospital and day surgery facilities. Her formal qualifications include Diplomas in Practice Management and Accounting and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Kathy is passionate about working in the healthcare industry with a focus on providing the best possible patient experience and outcome along with assisting her team to reach their full potential.
Kathy enjoys spending spare time with family and friends and enjoys travelling locally or overseas when she gets the chance.
Vanessa began her career at the Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre in 2000 and is now one of its longest serving members of the team. She has worked across many facets of the business during this time, including quality management, day surgery admissions and reception and is highly knowledgeable about all service related and administration aspects of AE&LC.
Currently Vanessa is the Centre’s Level Administration Manager which involves day to day management of the consulting rooms. However, as well as this she also oversees and manages the marketing aspect of the consulting business and attends to the management of staffing and customer service within the centre. She is, Dr Peter Ingham’s (Medical Director), immediate support and strives towards ensuring that AE&LC provides the very best care and service to their valued patients at all times.
Outside of work Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family and pursuing her love of both photography and camping.
Benjamin graduated from Deakin University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Vision Science and a Masters in Optometry. He is therapeutically endorsed, with the ability to prescribe a range of topical medications to treat various conditions.
Ben has been with the Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre since 2020, providing pre- and post-operative optometric care. He also assists further in the refractive theatres ensuring optimal care is provided to all patients
In his spare time, Ben enjoys hitting the courts for a game of tennis and catching up with friends.
Lori graduated from Queensland University of Technology in 1994 with First Class Honours and the University Medal for Academic Excellence. She has consulted at Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre since 1997 and over the past 20 years has enjoyed delivering pre and post-operative optometric care for refractive laser and cataract patients.
Lori has contributed to the development of optometry in South Australia through her former membership on the Optometry Association Board and the Optometry Australia (SA) Continuing Education Committee.
More recently completing her Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics, Lori is able to therapeutically manage a range of eye diseases.
Lori always strives to deliver an exemplary standard of eye care and service to her patients, and continues to thoroughly enjoy her professional practice.
Megan had previously worked for the Adelaide Eye and Laser team for 12 years. She had then moved to the country with her young children for 11 years and has now moved back and resumed working again early 2021 and is now the Team Leader and Ophthalmic Technician. Megan also assists in CSSD, reception or any place she is needed, providing the best possible patient experiences and outcomes all round.
Megan enjoys spending time with her family and therefore loves going home to the Southeast to enjoy quality time with family and friends. She also loves watching her children play basketball and football and taking them to watch the AFL during the footy season.
Carolyn completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Orthoptics at La Trobe University and is a current member of the Australian Orthoptic Board and Orthoptics Australia. She has worked in ophthalmic assisting roles within South Australia since 1993 and has participated in several volunteering programs in developing countries. Carolyn enjoys her role immensely, delivering consistent and accurate testing to support our optometrists and ophthalmic surgeons.
Outside of work, she enjoys bushwalking and spending time with her family.
Ashleigh joined the Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre team in 2022 as an Ophthalmic Technician. She is currently in her first year of a Bachelor of Nursing degree at Flinders University.
Ashleigh enjoys playing and coaching netball and volleyball outside of uni and work.
Our Ophthalmic Technician, Mary joined AE&LC in February 2021 where she sees patients for their pre- and post-operative testing, along with assisting admin when required. She is currently in her fourth year of Optometry at Flinders University where she dives into learning her passion.
When she is not caring for patients or studying away, Mary is spending her quality time with friends and family.
Joining the team in 2019 Nikki is a integral member of customer services team at Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre. Her friendly smile and valuable experience of each step of the customer journey ensures each patient’s visit is personalised, stress free, organised and enjoyable. She is particularly skilled at surgical schedules and bookings and is able to offer advice and answer any questions patients may have in this area.
Before joining Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre Nikki found employment in customer service focussed roles for 12 years, with ten of these being in optical and ophthalmic related businesses.
When not at work Nikki is a keen video gamer and enjoys spending time socialising with her family and caring for her menagerie of pets.
Tayla joined the team at Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre in 2021 as one of our friendly Patient Services Officers.
Outside of work she enjoys playing netball and time with her family and friends.
Jenny has worked at Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre since 2007 as our medical typist.
Jenny enjoys cooking, trying new cuisines and spending time with her family.
