Dr LaHood is a globally recognised and renowned surgeon with the benefit of being educated in the modern age. Based in Adelaide, he is a recognised expert in cataract and refractive surgery and has considerable experience in several surgical subspecialties.
Driven to provide the best possible visual outcomes for his patients viewing it as a once in a lifetime opportunity to give them the vision that they have always wanted.
Graduating in 2011 with distinction, Dr LaHood began a fellowship in Adelaide before heading to New Zealand to practice as a specialist ophthalmic surgeon building his expertise in the full suite of laser vision correction technology. He relocated back to Adelaide in 2020 and is now continuing his career consulting at various Adelaide locations.
He is committed to education and research and frequently speaks on ophthalmic topics including cataract and refractive surgery across the globe alongside a position of Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Adelaide.
He actively practices a patient-first focus with a genuine interest in individual patient health and maximising visual outcomes. With a. warm personality and a commitment to listening, he is one of the best eye surgeons globally.
Dr LaHood studied at the Otago Medical in New Zealand as a top-ranked entrant graduating with distinction. He completed his Postgraduate at the University of Sydney being awarded with all three prizes in Ophthalmic anatomy, physiology, and optics.
He moved to Adelaide to undertake subspecialty training in refractive surgery where he became an authority on astigmatism management, premium IOL implantation and laser vision correction before returning to New Zealand to practice as an ophthalmic surgeon in Auckland where he specialised in refractive and cataract surgery along with other specialties.
Dr LaHood then relocated to Adelaide to continue his career and has been practising at many illustrious facilities both public and private along with continuing his education and educating. He strives for perfection and has an excellent ability to focus on intricate details and continues to stay informed, educate and be educated on the latest technology and knowledge available.

Dr Supramaniam, or “Dev” to his friends, graduated from medical school in 2000 going on to obtain both Malaysian and Australian specialist ophthalmology qualifications. In 2013 he undertook 12 months of advanced retinal training at the Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide. Dev has worked in both metro and regional Australia always striving to provide quality, patient centred eye care and has a passion for outreach work. He’s performed over 10,000 eye surgeries including complex cataract and retinal surgeries.
During his career, he has been actively involved in training ophthalmology registrars and fellows in cataract and advanced retinal surgery. For his efforts, he was selected as a full member of the Ophthalmic Education Standing Committee of the Asia – Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO), one of the umbrella international ophthalmic bodies with the goal of preventing blindness and promoting excellence in ophthalmology through research and service, among member nations of the Asia-Pacific region. He also is a lecturer at the School of Medicine, The
University of Queensland (RCS) and the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University.
Dr Supramaniam is a consulting ophthalmologist and eye surgeon at Adelaide Eye and Laser Centre (AE&LC). This includes consulting and performing: cataract surgery offering standard, premium toric and options for spectacle free vision (trifocal lenses) for suitable patients as well as procedures, treatments and the management of vitreoretinal and macular issues.
Graduating from Medical School in 2012, Carmen gained some experience in other surgical specialties before completing a year at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. From there Carmen completed an observership at Moorfields Hospital in London in glaucoma and neuro ophthalmology, prior to commencing her formal ophthalmology training in Adelaide in 2018.
In 2022 Carmen undertook subspecialty fellowship training in glaucoma surgery at Westmead Hospital, NSW, and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in 2023.
In April 2023 she commenced working as a consulting ophthalmologist and eye surgeon at Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre. Carmen is a passionate provider of eye health and the subspecialties
in her field of expertise. Throughout her career she has worked in both metropolitan and regional hospitals (as listed below), performing thousands of highly successful surgeries.
Carmen will be consulting from Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre performing surgical procedures at ParkView Day Surgery, specialising in cataract surgery offering standard, premium toric and options for spectacle free vision (trifocal lenses) for suitable patients. In addition, she is able to provide minimally invasive glaucoma surgery at the time of cataract surgery. Dr Ingham received his fellowship of ophthalmology in 1987 in Adelaide and until 1990 was a visiting specialist to the Royal Adelaide and Whyalla Hospitals in combination with private practice. From 1991 he became a visiting specialist to Port Pirie and Noarlunga Hospitals and clinical adviser in ophthalmology to Ashford Community Hospital. From 1996 he was also a visiting cataract surgeon to Mackay and Melbourne. In all locations co-management with local optometrists, ophthalmologists and medical practitioners was developed to allow for the optimum care of his surgical patients.
In 1992 Dr Ingham introduced eye laser (refractive) surgery to South Australia at Ashford Community Hospital and in 1996 established the Ashford Eye & Laser Centre to cater for his sub-specialty in cataract and eye laser (refractive) surgery. Since then Dr Ingham has completed more than 25,000 cases of laser vision correction and over 20,000 cataract procedures. He has also been an investigator for emerging technologies for various international companies including Wavelight Laser AG of Germany, Alcon Surgical USA, Staar Surgical USA and Refractec USA.
Dr Ingham developed and relocated to the Adelaide Eye and Laser Centre (AE&LC) at 215 Greenhill Road, Eastwood in 1999.
