About AE&LC

Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre (AE&LC) is Adelaide’s leading ophthalmic consulting practice.

Located on Level 1 of Adelaide’s premier and purpose-built ophthalmic treatment precinct, and enjoying priority affiliation with ParkView Day Surgery, AE&LC provides patients with both convenient and comprehensive ophthalmic consulting and surgical management in a single dedicated location.

Chaired and owned by Medical Director, Dr Peter Ingham, AE&LC is supported by Adelaide’s leading ophthalmologists, a highly skilled medical team, and exceptional customer service professionals.

Currently, AE&LC has four practising ophthalmologists and eye surgeons, Dr Peter Ingham, Dr Ben LaHood, Dr Devaraj Supramaniam and Dr Carmen Oakley.

Patients are seen in a modern consulting suite and are referred via a network of general practitioners, eye specialists and optometrists or independently chose us in their journey to optimise their vision.

With a patient first focus, your eye health and well-being is our most important priority and we trust in our level of service, care and results.

We look forward to welcoming you at AE&LC.

The evolution of AE&LC

In February 1992 Dr Peter Ingham, our current Medical Director, introduced laser refractive surgery to South Australia at the Ashford Community Hospital campus.

Due to high demand the Centre quickly outgrew this initial space and in 1996 moved to the Anzac Highway based campus of Ashford and was established as the Ashford Eye and Laser Centre.

Continued growth and success of the business saw it move again in 1999 to its current location at 215 Greenhill Road, Eastwood.  At this time, it became known as Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre (AE&LC) and was the first accredited facility of its kind in South Australia, a purpose built consulting and operating facility for the speciality of cataract and eye laser (refractive) surgery with full hospital accreditation. As such it was able to offer patients the very best options in eye surgery.

In 2021 the centre evolved once again, and Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre became an independent consulting company located on the first floor of the building.

The ground floor was renamed ParkView Day Surgery (PVDS).

ParkView Day Surgery is a fully accredited and purpose-built ophthalmic day hospital hosting multiple theatres and a complete suite of ophthalmic surgical technology and equipment, including the latest in laser vision correction technology.

Together the two organisations combine to create a comprehensive and convenient patient-first focused ophthalmic treatment precinct for comprehensive ophthalmic consulting and surgical management.

About ParkView Day Surgery and the precinct

Conveniently located on the ground floor, and accessible by lift from AE&LC, our patients enjoy the convenience of having all of their treatment needs met in the one location, and priority treatment at ParkView Day Surgery, a purpose-built ophthalmic day hospital.

ParkView Day Surgery is able to cater for a range of eye surgeries, including cataract, refractive, and corneal surgeries. AE&LC patients will be looked after pre and post-operatively at AE&LC.

ParkView Day Surgery uses refractive laser technologies that are proven, predictable, and able to be individually tailored to each patient’s unique eyes and treatment requirements. PVDS choose this technology because the surgeons feel that it has superior eye tracking and customised treatment capabilities at present.

Both AE&LC and ParkView Day Surgery provide available patient car parking facilities in an underground car park that is directly accessible from Greenhill Road and provides lift access to both levels of the building. Please view the video resource here to show you where these car-parking resources are and how to access them.

For patients travelling and requiring accommodation, ParkView Day Surgery have a relationship with The Terrace Hotel located nearby on South Terrace and provide our patients with a 15% discount on the cost of their accommodation. Please contact ParkView Day Surgery for details.

Complimentary laser assessment

To understand your best laser options we provide either a tele-consultation or in-house assessment complimentary.
